After finishing my 90-day trial, I went back and actually read into the ingredients rather than just taking the label's word for what they do. Here's what I found, and how it lined up (or didn't) with my own experience.
This is the ingredient with the most research behind it in the formula. It's been studied for its effects on blood sugar regulation via a pathway called AMPK activation โ sometimes described as a "metabolic switch." Studies generally use doses in the 500mg range, taken multiple times daily, to see meaningful effects on blood sugar markers. This lines up reasonably well with my own experience of cravings easing gradually rather than suddenly, since blood-sugar-related mechanisms build over time rather than acting instantly.
Studied primarily for its EGCG content, associated with modest increases in calorie expenditure and fat oxidation. "Modest" is doing real work in that sentence โ this isn't a dramatic thermogenic effect, which tracks with how gradual my own weight/fit changes were.
An adaptogen studied for reducing fatigue and supporting a more balanced stress response, rather than acting as a direct stimulant. This is consistent with my energy improvements feeling "steadier" rather than a caffeine-like jolt โ I never felt wired, just less crashed.
Studied for modestly slowing the rise in blood sugar after meals, which several sources connect to reduced hunger signaling. Plausible contributor to my own craving changes, alongside the Berberine.
None of these ingredients are studied for fast, dramatic effects โ they're all "gradual, modest, cumulative" in the research, which is exactly the shape my own 90 days took. I don't think that's a coincidence, though I also can't rule out that I was somewhat primed to notice a pattern that matched what I later read. That's a real limitation of doing the research after the trial instead of before.
I'd read this research before starting, not after. Knowing in advance that most of these ingredients need 3+ weeks (some longer) to show measurable effects would have saved me the week-2 doubt spiral I wrote about in why I almost quit.
